National Touch Champs Again!

They've done it again! Our Senior Girls Touch Team have beaten Paeroa College 8 - 2 in the final to retain their National Title.

Special congratulations to Janelle Cavanagh who was named MVP of the Girls Grade. The following were selected in the New Zealand Touch tournament team 2009:

  • Janelle Cavanagh
  • Chelsey Smart
  • Langi Veainu

The Senior Boys finished a creditable 10th in the tournament.

Jason Reed Winner: The award for contribution to sports administration by a young woman and a young man in a position of umpire, referee, coach or tutor.

Janelle Cavanagh, Kelsey Berryman and Allie McGlinn Finalists: The award for the most outstanding individual achievement by a young sportswoman and a young sportsman specialising in one sport.

Kelsey Berryman Highly commended: The award for the best all round young sportswoman and young sportsman who have achieved in more than one sporting code.

Matthew Crake Finalist: The award for the best all round young sportswoman and young sportsman who have achieved in more than one sporting code.
